DRAWING THE HAIR LINE

Start out by drawing the hair line with the liner pencil. It should be where your natural hair line is. Do not go too low or it will look unnatural. Take you time because this is the most important part of the process.

MAKE A HORSESHOE SHAPE

Using the Wahl Magic Clips cut out a horseshoe shape going back to the crown of the head. Don't take it all the way down to the skin. However get it as smoothe as possible.

SET THE BLADE TO A OPEN ADJUSTMENT

Set the blade to a more open adjustment. You're tying to get it low but not completely skinned. Makes sure it's even as possible all the way around so the dreads do not appear lopsided.

CLEAN THE TOP OF HEAD

Using rubbing alcohol, clean the top of the head completely. The scalp should be free of grease or hair that may stop the adhesive from sticking properly.

ADD SCALP PROTECTOR

Put the scalp protector around the edges where there is going to have glue.

ADD GHOST BOND LACE WIG GLUE

Exactly where you added the scalp protector on the previous step, you will put the ghost bond glue.

ADD GHOST BOND LACE WIG GLUE TO CENTER

Also put a circle of glue to where the cap is going to be closed off.

THIN OUT THE GHOST BOND

Use a regular brush to thin out the ghost bond glue.

LEAVE A SPACE

Leave a small space between the hairline and the glue line. Do this to leave a small space to the scalp to give it a natural look.

ADD BLACK HAIR WRAP

Add black hair wrap but do not put it all the way down to the hairline. This allows for the unit to be sweat resistent and hold up to water better. DO NOT SHAMPOO HAIR.

CLOSE OFF BLACK HAIR WRAP

Close off black hair wrap on the top. Put a little bit of black hair glue to seal it. Get it flat to the head.

CLOSE OFF CAP FLUSH AND BLOW DRY

Close off the cap and stick down any open flaps. All flaps should lay flat. Blow dry on NO HEAT to finish dry the glue.

ADD BLACK WIG CAP

Take black wig cap and place it over the head and glue it down to the wrap. Put it around the wrap and across and down the middle.

SMOOTHE OUT THE GLUE

Evenly smoothe out the black hair glue. Then dry with a blow dryer on the NO HEAT setting.

CUT BLACK WIG CAP

Cut off the extra cap that is below the glue line.

PREPARE THE DREADS

Prepare the dreads by cutting them. You can have them as long as you want. Use 3 packs of hair. Measure them at 11 inches for our lesson.

ADD ELECTRICAL TAPE TO AGAIINST THE HAIRLINE

Put electrical tape to support the hairline. Use 3 pieces. Left, right, and center. Match it the guideline that was created in the beginning.

ADD GHOST BOND GLUE

Add more ghost bond glue to the open area between the cap and the electric tape and smooth it out with the brush. ONLY DO THE FRONT FIRST.

REMOVE THE TAPE RIGHT AWAY

After putting the glue on. Remove the electrical tape right away. Don't let the glue dry on top of the electrical tape.

CLEAN UP THE GLUE PERFECTLY

After removing the tape, use a scissor edge to clean up any glue that is not perfectly lined up.
